These vases, presented in his latest exhibition in Venice, are a way for Aldo Chaparro to use an everyday object to question the boundaries between art and function.
Each vase functions simultaneously as an object and a sculpture: it retains its capacity to hold flowers while simultaneously activating an aesthetic interpretation that engages with space, form, and materiality.
